Binocular Vision · Red/Green Anaglyph

Screening observation, and carryover under optometric direction

Pair the screening packet with VPA™ Domain 2 · Visual Efficiency findings (convergence, fixation, pursuits) to document an observation and route a referral. The carryover packet is not an OT-initiated intervention: use it only when a developmental optometrist has prescribed anti-suppression or fusion work and has asked you to support carryover in occupation. Requires red/green anaglyph glasses (not red/cyan 3-D movie glasses).

Screening observation · 9 pages

Red / Green Binocular Screening Packet

A structured screening observation of suppression, fusion, and fixation/localization using anaglyph glasses. Produces a documented observation and a referral decision — not a binocular vision diagnosis.

  • 3 screening sheets: Suppression · Fusion · Fixation & Localization
  • 3 practice sheets: tracing, find-and-circle, bilateral reading
  • Escalation criteria route findings to developmental optometry

Optometry-directed carryover · 10 activities

Red / Green Carryover Activities

Occupation-embedded carryover activities for students whose developmental optometrist has already prescribed anti-suppression or fusion work. The OT supports carryover inside classroom occupations; the optometrist owns the vision plan of care. Do not begin these without written optometric direction.

  • Use only under written optometric direction and after clearance
  • 10 classroom-embedded activities with grade-up / grade-down cues
  • Session tracking sheet for reporting carryover back to optometry

OT scope: Anything pointing to eye health, refractive error, or a binocular diagnosis is a referral, never a conclusion. The VPA™ produces observations, not diagnoses. Nothing in the VPA™ or in VML materials is optometric vision therapy, and nothing here recommends lenses, prism, filters, or patching. Full scope statement
